Polishing

Brass, copper and bronze shells naturally tend to oxidize and develop stains or corrosion over time.

We have professionally polished several Pearl Free Floating and other metal shells in the past and are happy to offer this service to you as well.

After polishing, you can choose to have the shell protected with a new clear coat. This will help preserve the freshly polished finish and delay oxidation and staining. However, no coating will protect the metal indefinitely, and some oxidation may eventually return.

Personally, we prefer to leave these shells uncoated and simply maintain them occasionally with a quality brass or copper cleaner and polish. This keeps the natural metal finish looking its best and makes future maintenance straightforward.
